Angola
"I lived in Luanda from 2019 to 2021 during my family’s posting with the U.S. Embassy. Though Angola’s 27-year civil war ended in 2002, traces of it remain visible in the built landscape, the economy, and personal memory. I came to know many of the people I photographed before making their portraits. From that foundation of trust came these images of worship, labor, street life, and celebration—everyday moments in a nation carrying both memory and momentum."
