Hi, I'm Monica!
I am a documentary photographer, author, and artist based in Youngstown, Ohio. I find stories rooted in real people and places and share them through photography, books, and illustrations.
Following my husband's career overseas gave me a front-row seat to cultures and communities around the world. The more I traveled, the more I found myself noticing both our differences and, more often than not, our similarities.
Somewhere along the way, that way of seeing became what I call today The Art of Noticing. It describes the curiosity that has guided my work for over 20 years and continues to inspire me today.

Nibbles: A Fodor Tree Farm Tale is inspired by a real family farm in Poland, Ohio. What began as a visit to buy flowers four years ago grew into a friendship with the Fodor family and, eventually, the inspiration for my debut children's book. I hope you'll enjoy following Nibbles' journey, meeting the Fodor family, and exploring the enchanting farm they have lovingly built. I'm so excited to share this story with you!
