Hi, I'm Monica!

I am a documentary photographer, author, and artist based in Youngstown, Ohio, practicing the art of noticing. I find stories rooted in real people and places and share them through photography, books, and illustrations.

Following my husband's career overseas gave me a front-row seat to the cultures and communities around the world. The more I traveled, the more I noticed both our differences and, more often than not, our similarities.

 

It's the similarities that have guided my work for over 20 years and continue to inspire me to this day. I invite you to share in my curiosity about small stories with big hearts and everything in between.
